Interventional Radiology Department
At Klavo we are having Best Interventional Radiologist with over 10 years of Experience.
Department of Interventional Radiology
Interventional Radiology is one of the medical specialities that entails performing a number of imaging procedures in order to obtain images of inner parts of the body. These images are carefully interpreted by interventional radiologists who use them to diagnose injuries and diseases, as well as to perform various interventional procedures.
At Klavo Clinic, our radiology department has experienced interventional radiologists who use high-end technology for imaging purposes, like X-rays, MRI scans, fluoroscopy, CT scans and ultrasounds for patients.
With the help of advanced networking and communications technology, we have computerised radiography and picture archiving, which facilitates communication among the departments of the hospital.
X-rays: The X-ray department has state-of-the-art 800 mA X-ray units, and the films are developed in our digital radiography lab, producing images of high quality.
Ultrasound: A high-frequency sound wave is used in an ultrasound scan to create an image of a body’s inside parts. Modern ultrasound equipment is available in our radiology department. Studies performed include:
- Breast Ultrasound
- Abdominal / Pelvic scans
- Obstetric scans with 3D & 4D images
- Doppler studies
- Sonograms
- Ultrasound-guided interventional procedures, FNAC & biopsy
CT scan: We provide a wide variety of imaging services with the help of a multidetector 128 slice CT scanner. Imaging procedures include non-enhanced and contrast-enhanced scanning of various body parts which include the head, neck, chest, and stomach for both adults and children.
High resolution & quick imaging scans of different body parts are produced with detailed information. In addition, our specialists perform Angiography and Biopsy, CT guided FNA and Cardiac CT.
MRI(Magnetic resonance imaging): Klavo Clinic’s radiology department is proud of its new 1.5T MRI machine. By using a radio wave generated by a computer and a magnetic field, detailed images of inside organs and tissues can be created. Our advanced MRI unit contains the latest digital imaging software designed to provide high-resolution images of various body parts.
Fluoroscopy: It is a medical imaging technique that displays a continuous X-ray image on a computer monitor similar to an X-ray movie. The procedure involves passing an X-ray beam through the body to achieve continuous images.
We also perform PET scans, mammography, and other special radiological procedures if necessary based on the patient’s health.
Our interventional radiologists offer a wide range of services which include tumour treatment, organ biopsies, stent placements by inserting small devices and catheter insertions via an artery or vein in the body. Catheters and other instruments are guided to the exact location where surgery or treatment is to be performed with the help of these images.
The procedure reduced the requirement for traditional surgery, as the operation can be carried out through a thin plastic tube similar to the size of a straw. In the long run, interventional radiologists can handle a broad range of conditions due to the continuous advancement of technology.
An interventional radiologist can perform a variety of procedures, which include:
- Angioplasty and Stent Insertion
- Biliary Drainage
- Image-Guided Liver Biopsy
- Radiofrequency Ablation
- Inferior Vena Cava Filters
- Joint Injection
- Spinal Cord Embolisation (AVM/DAVF)
- Thyroid fine-needle aspiration (FNA)
- Uterine Fibroid Embolisation
- Varicose Vein Ablation
- Vertebroplasty
We use advanced X-ray equipment to provide reliable diagnostics. We ensure to protect patients and operators from radiation exposure while providing accurate results.
